Welcome to UMKC’s central office for the internationalization of our campus.

Mission

International Affairs seeks to value the culture, beliefs and perspectives of the individual by creating, supporting and promoting opportunities to immerse our students, faculty, staff, and community members in interculturally enriched programming at home and abroad. International Affairs oversees:

  • University participation in international study abroad, research and fellowships
  • Intercultural programming on campus
  • International educational exchange and global partnerships
  • The coordination of UMKC’s involvement in nationally competitive, prestigious fellowships and scholarships programs
  • The admission, orientation, and support of international students and scholars

Vision

Through the efforts of International Affairs, we strive to support the UMKC community to challenge themselves to grow in areas such as cross-cultural communication, civil discourse, and global competency. We hope to create a community that shares freely of themselves in order to grow together and to expand the positive reach of the UMKC community beyond the geographical borders of campus to become an active participant of the global community.
